Camino Por La Salúd Mental

In celebration of May is Mental Health Month, Thelma Ryder, the wife of CEO Tim Ryder, is fulfilling her dream of walking 120 kilometers (75 miles) over a period of 6-7 days. Support her efforts to raise money for mental health at San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center!

What is the Camino de Santiago?

The Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James) is an ancient pilgrimage that started in the 9th century in Spain and became popular throughout Europe. Today, thousands of individuals make the trek for many personal reasons.

The Walk:

Thelma will walk the Portuguese route, starting at the border between Portugal and Spain and walking north to Santiago de Compostela. It is a total of approximately 120 kilometers (75 miles) and will take her 6-7 days walking approximately 16 – 25 kilometers (10-15 ½ miles) per day. Thelma has set a personal goal to walk the Camino, not for religious reasons, but for self-reflection and personal accomplishment, and to give back to a cause that is near and dear to her.
