The Youth Contact Field Capable Clinical Services (FCCS) program offers on-site school-based mental health services at 18 Los Angeles Unified School District schools in the San Fernando Valley. In addition, the services may be provided in the home, office, or community. Children and adolescents in the Youth Contact-FCCS program receive psychological treatment services to assist with emotional/behavior problems that are barriers to functioning at school, at home or socially. Services provided include: individual and group therapy, Evidenced Based Practices, crisis intervention, family therapy, case management, parent support groups and medication support. Referrals typically come directly from school personnel for students ages 3-19; however, referrals may also originate from Department of Mental Health agencies, Department of Children and Family Services, Probation, and other professionals in the field. Bilingual/bicultural services are available for monolingual Spanish-speaking families as well as for families with other language needs.
Funding for this program is provided through the Mental Health Services Act.
